We hope everyone had a great weekend. We went to watch NC State baseball Saturday and enjoyed the great weather.
A bill has been introduced in our state legislature to create a Root Out Poverty task force. The bill aims to fund this task force with $300,000 for it’s first year to the Department of Health and Human Services. The purpose of the task force is to hire 2 new personnel positions in that Department dedicated to interdepartmental collaboration among State agencies, departments, and institutions to advance poverty reduction and economic recovery in the State. Is this a good idea? What do you think they would find when visiting our county?
In other news, could it really be, Osama bin Laden is dead? Now what?
news reports are saying that Osama bin Laden is dead.
killed by special forces in Pakistan.
the claim is that the US is in custody of the body.
Congratulations to the GREATEST MILITARY IN THE WORLD. What a job by the Navy Seals.
Nuff Said.
Sometimes the General Assembly’s machinations astound even a dyed-in-the-wool cynic like me. How does one propose to lay thousands of state workers to correct a billion dollar plus shortfall and then expect to address poverty with $300,000?
Apparently the study aims to reduce the poverty of 2 citizens by giving them about a $75,000 salary each. ($150,000 of the money is set aside for the salary of the 2 workers, while $150,000 is for the studies costs outside of the salary)
The Daily Disgr… eh, Dispatch is posting their stories for tomorrow on the internet now. What has our attention is the story about the Sheriff’s office closing in on the suspects in a home invasion.
This is great news, but is it news worthy? Sure, the people who perpetrated this crime probably can’t read, but why is the paper publishing a story saying “They’re coming to get you guys! You better run ’cause they’re on to you!” It’s almost like the newspaper has joined the court system in trying to assist our criminals.
We love to hear good news in arenas like this, but we believe it should wait until AFTER arrests have been made.
I get your point, but maybe the idea is to get the suspects to turn themselves in without incident, or to encourage people to call in with tips to collect any reward money?
Osama bin laden death still remain questionable for some despite that white house cleared that DNA was been done and proved that he’s dead. New york had their celebrations and USA proclaimed victory but still asked everyone to be vigilant for possible terrorist attack.

This morning, internet were flooded of photos of the incident took place last May 1 about Osama’s death, pictures of three dead men that was taken by some pakistani and sold to reuters. It shown how this guys were shot in their heads and bathed on their own blood. These three men unfortunately were left behind and were not given an immediate burial respect not like Osama who was been the head of the al-qaeda which was quite interesting to know.
US govt made clear that no pictures will be shown for mission they did however these pictures are all over now. Pictures that i believe should have been kept and secured. I must admit I myself question the truthfulness of the act since up until the body of Osama was not shown for public.
Looking on those pictures that were leaked, I guess I’ve seen enough and whether Obama still alive or really dead are not any of my interest anymore. But these pictures getting all over the net are too much for me to handle and i am sure that those dead men have comrades or their fellow al-qaedas that will see these pictures and i am now scared on how they will react on these . :(
word is that fraudulent photos are flooding the internet from an unknown source.
Those photographs where acquired by Reuters from some pakistani local and taken about an hour after the U.S. assault on Osama bin Laden’s compound.
Here is the link http://www.reuters.com/subjects/bin-laden-compound.
it could be fraud or otherwise, but this is all over now and i’m hoping and praying that these pictures are all fraud and al-qaeda’s will think that same way too.. :)
The American public gets all upset about a titty being shown on national TV yet clamors for pictures of a guys head blown off. Doesn’t make sense to me.
