This afternoon be sure to visit downtown Henderson, NC for a special event Meet Me in the Street. Come early to browse the downtown shops, but the main event runs from 5:30pm to 8:30pm on Breckenridge Street. The second of 3 “Meet Me in the Street” concerts this year, todays event features “The Konnection Band” and is presented by Harris Incorporated of Henderson. The next Meet Me in the Street will be on September 1st, featuring The Holiday Band. This event is free and open to the public!
If hanging out in the streets is not your thing, also this afternoon The Advocates for Vance County Shelter Animals is hosting a meeting at Maria Parham Medical Center, John T. Church Classroom from 6:30pm – 8:00pm. The event is open to all those concerned about the shelter and more importantly the animals it houses.
Welcome to the Thursday Open Line
Phil…I always seem to have trouble when posting here…hesitations, stops and freezes, and no visible post numbers, unless I click the “torn paper” icon.
why is that?
I’d have to see it to tell you for sure, but my hunch is you have an older browser and network issues causing packet loss. You could try to install and use Firefox at http://www.firefox.com for an up to date browser to start with.
Phil…my Dell computer is a year and a half old, and has windows 7, continuously updated by microsoft.
Windows 7 comes with IE 8. If it you do have all updates, you’ll have IE9. Either way, both work fine with our site. You shouldn’t use compatibility view in those browsers. Otherwise, I think you’ve got other issues going on and should have it looked at.
I use Google Chrome and it seems to work pretty well (knocking on wood).
