As we close in on finishing our first week of donations we have had some financial donations. Today in the cafeteria of the Maria Parham Medical Center, tickets for the Raffle Drawing will be available at noon. Another trip to the cafeteria for selling raffle tickets is scheduled for Oct. 21st from noon to 1pm. Raffle tickets are also available at the Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce from 9am to 4pm each weekday or by contacting Marianne Miller at 252-436-1064. Tickets sell for $1.00 each or 6 for $5.00. All proceeds from the raffle will go to our postage costs and the purchase of some of our high ticket request items if needed. The students at some of the local elementary and middle school are already working on their selected projects for the soldiers. Drop boxes have been distributed and can be found at the following locations around the community: Vance Furniture; The Daily Dispatch; Aycock Elementary; Community Care Partners; Maria Parham Medical Center; DataForge; Henderson-Vance County Chamber of Commerce; Prim Residential Rentals; Staples Distribution Center; Vance County Schools Administration Building.
This year our donation accumulation time frame is a bit smaller due to the request of our soldier group, so we urge all of the community to please take a few minutes and stop by one of the drop sites with a donation to the soldiers who will be far from home this holiday season.
