President’s Weekly Address: Made in America. From a GM plant in Detroit, President Obama highlights the landmark trade agreements passed this week which will support tens of thousands of American jobs, level the playing field for American workers, and help us meet our goal of doubling our exports.
The President will be in North Carolina today with Obama starting his bus tour with a speech in Asheville, N.C., Monday morning and he will speak again later today at a high school in Millers Creek, N.C. He’ll also speak Tuesday at a community college in Jamestown, N.C., and make stops in the southern Virginia cites of Emporia and Hampton, before wrapping up the bus tour Wednesday at a firehouse in North Chesterfield, Va.
We had a great time this past weekend in Henderson visiting the cars and trucks. Here’s our pictures from Saturday:

Welcome to the Monday Open Lines!
What is the real reason why Middleburg S/H is moving to Henderson????
One Voice – My guess is that Middleburg S/H is losing customers to Ribeyes.
Middleburg steakhouse is old, tired, and not worth the drive for an average meal.
Ribeye’s steakhouse is pretending to be an upscale place while offering average to less than average meals.
George’s in Henderson offers average quality meals in a noisy atmosphere with inconsistent service. Sadly George’s lacks a safe exterior environment after sunset.
Only the fool hearty, drug dealers and their customers are anywhere in downtown Henderson between sunset and sunrise. The Section 8 cliental of the county club set have created an unsafe environment within much of Henderson.
Try Harvest in Oxford if you are seeking a quality meal prepared on-site.
Anonymous, I didn’t ask for reviews on where to eat; I just asked was there something else behind the relocation that the paper did not quote on.
Anon, absolutely agree re: Harvest.
Harvest has got some really inspired food for sure.
One Voice, you have been on HiH long enough to know the local paper prints only what the puppet master has approved. You want the whole story start with HiH, then if you think you missed something borrow a copy of the local paper.
And on and on we go–now Landmark Co. wants to turn old Eaton Johnson property into more low income and subsidized small apartments–. We do NOT need any more low rent areas to breed crime nor do we need cheap stores. We’re never going to climb out of this mess at that rate.
What joy do the landlords get from killing this area? One has to wonder. The Board of Education will have a meeting later this week–will anyone stand up against the greed we see now?
Prudence, I totally agree, we do not need any more section 8 denizens flooding our area.
You asked what joy the landlords get from their business, here is a symbol of what drives the section 8 landlords $.
Section 8 landlords’ have a near risk free rental business; the government is paying the rent. The landlords’ only real concern is government regulations, such as maintaining the property to standards. In Henderson their lawyers capped this concern.
