Friday / Weekend Open Line

This weekend we hope you enjoy your Fall Festival, Halloween, and Saturday and Sunday.  There doesn’t seem to be as much events in the area this year as last.  Last year the YMCA hosted a nice event, where this year they decided to tone it down and offer the events for members only.  Last year the Aycock Recreation Center hosted a great event, but this year I can’t find a mention of it so far.  (edit – well apparently I was wrong, the local paper has a couple of pictures of the event.   They did a poor job of advertising it this year, the city’s website had no mention of it under the center’s events section.)   So I don’t have anything to post for the weekend in Henderson regarding local events, if you know of some please let everyone know below.

So I’ll go outside the area.  Franklinton is hosting Frankenfest on main street downtown Saturday from 9am to 5pm.  You can read more about it on www.frankenfestonmain.org

Youngsville has a popular haunted house called Panic Point.  Panic Point is more than a Haunted House.  With multiple attractions, food, carnival games, & music, this is NOT “Get in, Get scared, and Go home.”  We invite you to stay a while. Take time between attractions to enjoy the night. Grab some food by the fire, enjoy the music, and swap stories about what happened to you in the haunt.  Each attraction has a rating of one to four skulls, from most scary (Haunted Forest) to least scary (Howling Hayride).  This event is a ticketed event.  You can read more about it on their website www.raleighhauntedhouse.com

In fact there are numerous haunted house type events in the state, you can see a great list of them here at www.nchaunts.com

Monday, downtown merchants across Garnett Street in Henderson will host a trick or treat from 4:00pm to 5:30pm.  Come visit your local downtown, browse the shops and enjoy a safe event for your kids to go trick or treating.  Participating businesses will have an orange flyer in their window indicating there’s treats inside!

Monday evening the City of Henderson will observe Trick or Treat hours from 6pm to 9pm.

Welcome to the Weekend Open Lines!
