Kidnapping Victim OK, Suspect Fled


On November 24, 2011 around 11:38 PM officers with the Henderson Police Department received a call in reference to an armed subject at 128 Pearl Street. Upon arrival, officers learned that a kidnapping of an 18 year-old female had just occurred.

Officers surrounded the area in an attempt to locate the victim and the suspect with the assistance of the Vance County Sheriff’s Office. Officers then received a call to 581 N. Beckford Drive in reference to a prowler.

Upon arrival, officers along with a member of the North Carolina Highway Patrol located the victim and the suspect.

The suspect fled the scene on foot and the officers remained with the victim.

EMS was contacted and treated the victim on scene.

The suspect fled on foot towards the area of Witten Ave. A search was conducted, but the suspect was not located. The incident is under further investigation by members of the Major Crimes Unit.

Members of the Henderson Police Department received assistance from the Vance County Sheriff’s Office and the North Carolina Highway Patrol.
