Henderson – Vance Chamber of Commerce President Bill Edwards is has announced his resignation in a notice received by the Executive Committee on Friday, January 6, 2012.
In a statement sent by the chamber of commerce to members:
Mr. Edwards (Bill) worked for the Chamber since 2003 and we appreciate that he has led us with such a high level of integrity and energy. Because of Bill’s hard work and commitment, he is leaving our Chamber in a financially sound and highly respected position in Henderson, Vance County and North Carolina. Bill and his wife, Bettie will be staying in Vance County and he will continue to promote and assist the Chamber because he believes it is making Vance County a better place to live and raise a family. Please join me in wishing Bill the very best for the future and in thanking him for a job very well done.
I’d like to thank Mr. Edwards personally as well as I have seen first hand how he strives to help the community, from the large corporations to small businesses like us.
No announcement has been made for Bill’s successor, but a decision is planned to be made by March 31st.
Mr. Edwarda has done a good job for this community.
