On May 31, 2012 members of the Henderson Police Department Vice/Narcotics Unit and SWAT team conducted a search warrant at 1261 Americal Road Lot 40, Henderson in reference to an ongoing narcotics investigation conducted by the Henderson Police Department, Oxford Police Department, and the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement.
During the execution of the search warrant twenty-one and a quarter pounds of marijuana, a 12 gauge shotgun, and U.S. currency in excess of $3,500 was seized.
The occupant of the residence, Miguel Gomez, 19, was arrested and charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, maintaining a dwelling, sell and deliver a Schedule VI Controlled Substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He received a $20,000 secured bond pending a court hearing on June 11, 2012. Mr. Gomez was placed in the Vance County Jail as John Doe pending verification of his identity.
