Oxford Preperatory High School’s Interview with the NC Charter Advisory Council on Tuesday July 17th

The application for Oxford Preparatory High School has made it to the next step in the application process.

This past month, the NC Charter Advisory Council granted the OPHS application an interview that is scheduled to take place on Tuesday, July 17, at 1:45 p.m at the NCDPI Building (301 N. Wilmington St.) in State Board Room 755.  Our board will be given 15 minutes to make a presentation to address any concerns noted in the rubric from the initial review.

Following the presentation, 10 minutes will be given to the Council to ask additional questions.  Finally, the Council will vote to determine if they would like to recommend the application to the NC State Board of Education for approval (which meets in September to grant preliminary charters).

We invite anyone that supports the creation of this tuition-free college prep high school to attend and observe.

Team up, carpool, and make it down to the NCDPI building by 12:45 (they might run ahead of schedule) and wear purple and/or orange (school colors) to make your support known.  Having visible representation will make it clear to the council that there is demand for a high quality, tuition free college preparatory high school in the area.

If you would like more information about our application you can find it in it’s entirety at (http://www.ncpublicschools.org/docs/charterschools/resources/application/2014apps/oxfordprep.pdf) or email us at oxfordprephs@gmail.com.
