OILF,
The question I would ask is how much it will cost Henderson for not providing better access to the downtown area? The meeting centered around a study of what can be done to provide better access to the Henderson area and not a final decision to expand any streets. It was about exploring options to deal with future forecasted traffic problems (2040 forecast). Nothing is etched in stone and likely to change many times before any final decisions would be made.
If you widen ANY road, isn’t that creating more lanes for MORE traffic? Where is the logic in this? I thought the so called outer loop was supposed to take care of the congestion on Dabney Drive……
How much will it cost the State and the County and the City to acquire the land to widen Dabney Drive?
Did CVS or Auto Zone agree to give up their prime locations to start the connection to the widened Dabney Drive?
What about all those businesses that will be in the median of the proposed widened Dabney Drive do they have to pay for two entrances?
Does anyone really think Wendy’s, Bo Jangles, Papa Johns, and Denny’s are ready to give up their parking lots so Dabney Drive can be made two way?
Wish I had time to attend tonight’s meeting to watch this dance.
