Listening to Constituents — On Spending
As I travel the district and talk to constituents, one of the top issues they tell me they want addressed is runaway government spending. Last week, the Congressional Budget Office released its updated budget and economic forecast projecting a federal deficit of $1.12 trillion for FY 2012, which is equal to $9,500 of debt for every household in America. Click here or on the image below to see what one Second District constituent had to say recently about spending.
Deadline for Service Academy Nominations
Each year, I have the privilege to nominate outstanding high school students from the Second Congressional District of North Carolina for appointment to the United States Military Service Academies: the United States Air Force Academy, United States Merchant Marine Academy, the United States Military Academy and the United States Naval Academy.
If you know someone in the Second District who is interested in attending a United States Service Academy, you can get information about the application process on my website. If you have questions or need additional information, contact Alice McCall in my District Office at 910/230-1910. The deadline to submit an application for nomination to my office is October 31st.
