Julian Oliver: Discontinue Funds To Middle East Countries

Editors Note:  Julian Oliver is a former resident of Vance County who submitted the following piece for publication:

I faxed this letter to our 23rd Texas congressional district and Congressman Francisco Canseco is our Republican Representative.  The 23rd is located in SW Texas (Hondo and our surrounding area outside of San Antonio)

Congressman Canseco:

I am 76 years young, Korean War Veteran, retired DOD (Army) employee, Republican and reside in your 23rd District.

I urge you and your fellow colleagues to discontinue sending taxpayer funds to Egypt, Libya, and other Middle East countries that are not friendly to the US.

During my years with DOD, I spent 5 years with the US Army Corps of Engineers in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia in communications.  I am familiar with the Middle East culture.

I am in debt myself for about $20,000.000  I do have a mortgage and currently up to date.  I intend to keep mortgage payments up to date.  Instead of sending all that money to the Middle East, you can contribute to my debt.

Respectfully,

Julian C. Oliver
