Vance County Schools Seeking Business Partnerships

The Vance County Board of Education hopes to begin a new initiative that will further build a positive relationship with the business community.

By partnering with Vance County businesses, we seek to enhance the educational experience of all Vance County children by demonstrating the importance of a strong relationship between the school system and the business community. In particular, the Board of Education’s goal is to strengthen every student’s opportunity for success by reinforcing the critical bond that is needed among schools, parents and employers for every child’s development.

The new program is in the very early planning phase and will evolve with time. Initially, we would like to setup onsite sessions of interested businesses during normal business hours. The sessions would be designed to provide information about the activities taking place within Vance County Schools. Activities, such as school curriculum, clubs, and student support resources that benefit the students will be shared.

Your representatives to the sessions may include employees who have an interest in Vance County Schools, such as opportunities to volunteer for the myriad of class activities or to serve as tutors.

Hopefully, your employees who are parents of Vance County School students would view the sessions as a new company-provided benefit that offers them an opportunity to become more involved with the education of their children.

The bottom-line is this new initiative should be an invaluable tool and resource to help connect the business community, our schools, and parents in a setting that will foster and encourage participation in the learning process for the betterment of all our students.
