The public is invited to attend a community-wide meeting at 7 p.m. on Tuesday, February 26, in the auditorium at E.M. Rollins Elementary School in Henderson to discuss community safety and protection of youth in Vance County. The meeting is being sponsored by the Vance County Board of Education.
The meeting will be a one-hour session for open discussion about how to make our community a safer place for our citizens and our youth.
Local school administrators and students will discuss the needs of youth in Vance County.
Community residents who attend may also participate in the discussion. Participants who plan to address the audience are asked to bring prepared written statements to share with the event organizers.
The Board of Education is inviting major stakeholders in our community to the event. Those being invited include city and county government leaders, business leaders, law enforcement representatives, local judges, attorneys, leaders of civic organizations, church leaders, representatives of Vance-Granville Community College and local educators.
All interested community residents are urged to attend this meeting.
This will be the first of what is hoped will be a series of meetings to discuss the safety of citizens and youth in Henderson and Vance County.
