On September 5, 2013 members of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigation Division arrested Donterio Deshawn Williams, 23, of 87 Dalton Lane, Henderson for the charges of burning other building, and two counts of property damage. The charges stemmed from a series of earlier morning incidents in the downtown district that occurred on September 4, 2013. The first reported incident was a fire that was set in a trash can that occurred at the First United Methodist Church located on Church Street. The fire destroyed the trash can, a utility pole, and siding on an outbuilding. Damage was listed at $700.00. The other incidents that occurred was a broken window to a vehicle belonging to Mast Drug on S. Chestnut Street and a broken window to Sam’s Furniture on S. Garnett Street. Mr. Williams received a $25,000 secured bond and was placed in the Vance County Jail.
