We are at the midpoint of the weeklong National Rehabilitation Awareness celebration. One of its goals is to salute the determination of the nation’s 57 million residents who confront their disabilities as they go about their daily lives. Another is to say thanks to the thousands of rehabilitation professionals, such as the nation’s nearly 200,000 physical therapists, who help those in need adapt to and overcome their disabilities. About 19 percent of the population is living with some form of disability; half of them age 65 and older. Nearly 31 million have difficulty walking or climbing stairs, and 12 million require assistance with daily routines at home, such as dressing, bathing or preparing meals. Inscoe v Booth
Inscoe has been in office for three terms and all the economic development he can show for those years is the government subsidized apartments he owns and some new street lights in the basically abandoned downtown. Oh, I forgot he did approve money for a paint recycler busines; that wasn’t a real job business. Booth on the other hand has offered a viable idea for business growth, return to agricultural roots. This from a man who is self employed without the safety net of a retirement package. According to the advertizing at the pepper festival in Oxford last Saturday the south east’s largest pepper producer is on the boarder of Vance and Granville Counties. Maybe it’s time for a change in leadership on the at large Ward 2 city council seat.
