VGCC receives Back-to-Work Grant
Vance-Granville Community College was recently awarded $120,000 by the State Board of Community Colleges to implement the North Carolina Back-to-Work program established last year by the N.C. General Assembly. VGCC was one of 49 of the state’s 58 community colleges receiving a total of $5,874,104 in such grants this year, with amounts ranging from $52,600 to $173,870. RALEIGH, N.C. – Legal Aid of North Carolina, a statewide nonprofit law firm for low-income people, is recognizing National Domestic Violence Awareness Month by participating in vigils, community outreach programs, advocate training sessions and other events throughout October (see the full list). Raleigh, N.C. – Commerce Secretary Sharon Decker announced today that more than 1,600 new businesses have registered to find qualified workers with NCWorks Online since the site was launched on Aug. 5. Three VGCC Instructors named Certified Nurse Educators
Three instructors from the Nursing program at Vance-Granville Community College recently earned the designation Certified Nurse Educator (CNE) after meeting strict eligibility criteria and successfully completing a rigorous certification examination developed and administered by the National League for Nursing (NLN).
