The 700 students at Eaton-Johnson Middle School joined their teachers and other school staff members, as well as support personnel from the Administrative Services Center, in a “surprise” assembly Wednesday afternoon to announce that Dr. Larry Webb, principal of Eaton-Johnson, has been selected as the Region 3 Principal of the Year for the 2013-2014 school year.
He was selected as the top candidate interviewed by a special panel in the regional competition which also includes principals from Wake, Durham, Edgecombe, Franklin, Granville, Johnston, Nash-Rocky Mount, Northampton, Warren and Wilson county public schools.
Dr. Webb was chosen in September as the Vance County Schools’ Principal of the Year for 2013-2014.
He will go on now to represent the region in statewide competition for the North Carolina Principal of the Year.
Our entire school system joins together in congratulating Dr. Webb for this great achievement! He has represented his school and his school system well!
The first among the accompanying photos shows Dr. Webb with his wife, Elaine, left, and their daughter Annabelle. The second photo shows Dr. Webb’s reaction after Superintendent Ronald E. Gregory made the surprise announcement.
We’re all very proud of you Dr. Webb!!!
