Steven Craig Venable
On Monday, August 25, 2014, members of the Henderson Police Department Special Operations Unit executed a search warrant at 112 Peachtree Street in Henderson. The investigation of this matter began after Henderson Police received complaints of criminal activity around the Peachtree Street location. During the search, officers located 9 bricks (450 dosage units) of heroin, 3 bindles(bag) of heroin, 3.5 grams of marijuana, 524.00 U. S. currency, and a firearm.
Steven Craig Venable, 42, 112 Peachtree Street, Henderson was charged with the following offenses: Possession with the intent to manufacture, sell, or deliver heroin; Manufacturing heroin; Simple possession of marijuana; Maintaining a dwelling for keeping a controlled substance; Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
Venable was placed in the Vance County Jail after failing to post a 50,000.00 secured bond. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled in Vance County District Court on September 16, 2014.
