AG ENTREPRENEURSHIP CLASS FROM VGCC
For anyone who has an interest in starting an ag-related business, this class is a “must”! Over the course of seven classes, students will learn many important skills to help your business succeed (e.g. marketing, planning, financials, etc.). Tuition scholarships are available. FOOD SAFETY FOR FARMERS MARKET VENDORS

At this seminar, you will learn measures you can take to continue bringing healthy and safe products to the market. While the risk of foodborne illness is probably low, keep in mind that a single incident could seriously harm your sales (to say the least), and also affect the market as a whole. This is a FREE seminar, but registration is required (simply call or e-mail). Choose either of the following times:

VEGETABLE INSECT MANAGEMENT SEMINAR, 2/24, 6:30 pm
Learn to identify and manage common vegetable insects. This session will be taught by yours truly at the Warren County Extension Center. FREE, but registration required (just call or e-mail).
VANCE FARMERS MARKET ACCEPTING VENDOR APPLICATIONS SOON

In the coming weeks, applications will be available for the 2015 season. ALL are welcome to apply, but we are especially in need of additional produce vendors. The Vance County Regional Farmers Market is a first class facility with many amenities and a dedicated Market Manager who works hard to promote the market and assist vendors and customers. Our opening date for 2015 is April 18! More details available soon, or call if you have questions. 
MARKETING TIPS FOR FARMERS MARKET VENDORS
I will conduct a seminar on Mar 17, 6:30 pm, on strategies that may help you increase your farmers market sales. Specifically I will cover how to optimize your display, how to accept credit cards, and the potential benefits of social media (e.g. Facebook and Twitter). This seminar will be held at the Vance County Regional Farmers Market. FREE, but registration required (call or e-mail). 
COMPLIMENTARY FARM SAFETY REVIEW
We can come to your farm and conduct a FREE safety review! We will provide a detailed report with suggestions for improving the safety of your operation. Our safety team is available on Fridays in February, but other times may also be available. Call or e-mail for details.
SMALL FARMS WEEK
Hold the dates! This year, NC A&T SU will have Small Farms Week on Mar 22-28. Lots of great educational opportunities, and scholarships are available, just call or e-mail for the application form.
