Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation Continues its Support of Louisburg College, Awarding $150,000 in Grant Funds to Benefit Women Scholars


LOUISBURG, N.C.— Louisburg College has been granted $150,000 to continue Lettie Pate Whitehead Scholarships, which benefit the College’s female scholars. In accordance to the guidelines prescribed by the founder, the grantee awards institutions scholarship funding to award to Christian women who reside in one of the following southern states: Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. Over the years, hundreds of LC women have benefited from the generosity of the Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation.

The Lettie Pate Whitehead Foundation devotes most of its resources to the Lettie Pate Whitehead scholarship program. Mrs. Whitehead was an ardent supporter of education, and she gave generously to many educational institutions during her life. The Foundation’s scholarship program awards annual grants for the education of deserving female students with financial need at more than 200 accredited educational institutions in Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, North Carolina, South Carolina, Tennessee and Virginia. More than 10,000 students receive scholarships each year in individual amounts determined by their respective institutions.
