GARDEN SYMPOSIUM, MAR 28, VANCE FARMERS MARKET

We will have a Gardening Symposium on March 28th with expert speakers on raising herbs, planting for birds, and much more! This event will take place at the Vance County Regional Farmers Market. Find all the details here:
FREE WORKSHOP ON VEGETABLE GARDENING BASICS!
Feb 26th, 4-6 pm, Warren County Senior Center, 435 W. Franklin St. in Warrenton. The instructor will be yours truly and I will cover all the essentials to start you down the path of successful vegetable gardening! 
VEGETABLE GARDEN PESTS SEMINAR
Learn to identify and manage insect pests in the vegetable garden at this class on March 24th. This is free, but registration is required (just call or e-mail!). The class will start at 6:30 pm at the Warren County Extension Center, 158 Rafters Lane in Warrenton. 
BACKYARD FARMER SCHOOL
Are you interested in learning more about raising fruits, vegetables and livestock in your backyard, either for fun or profit? Then sign up for our Backyard Farmer School, which starts on March 12th. The class meets on Thursdays at 6:30 pm for six weeks. All the details can be found here:

VENDOR APPLICATIONS AVAILABLE FOR THE VANCE COUNTY REGIONAL FARMERS MARKET
The 2015 season starts on April 18th, and vendor applications are now available. Call for a copy, or download from http://go.ncsu.edu/VCRFM
FARMERS CAN SIGN-UP TO ACCEPT SNAP/EBT
On Feb 26, farmers can come to the Franklin County Extension Center in Louisburg to learn more about opportunities to accept SNAP benefits (formerly known as Food Stamps). Farmers may qualify to receive free equipment which will enable them to scan SNAP/EBT cards from customers. For more information, call Ivy Murphy at 919-527-6300.

At this workshop, to be held at the Center for Environmental Farming Systems, participants will learn from statewide experts on strawberries, blueberries, and blackberries. This event will include classroom instruction and field demonstrations.
