The MISSION of Vance County Schools is to be committed to educating all students

to prepare them for lifelong learning and productive citizenship.

 

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

 
 

?

  The ACT High School BootCamp will be held during the school day on Tuesday and

  Wednesday for all 11th graders at Northern Vance and Southern Vance high schools.

  Early College High students will attend a session either at Northern Vance or

  Southern Vance depending on where they live. Half of the 11th graders will attend the

  BootCamp on the first day and the remaining half will attend the BootCamp on the

  second day. Each BootCamp location will be led by an ACT consultant and five or six

  teachers. The BootCamp will last all day at each school.

  FAFSA Day is Saturday from 9 a.m. to 12 p.m. on the third floor of Building 7 at

  Vance-Granville Community College. High school seniors and their parents can get

  free assistance in completing the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA)

  forms used by colleges and universities to assess students’ financial needs.

Southern Vance High: (Monday, February 23) – Open House from 4 to 7 p.m.

Northern Vance High: (Monday, February 23-Thursday, February 26) – Tutoring sessions after school for identified 11th graders in preparation for the ACT. Bus transportation will be provided to take students home.

Southern Vance High: (Tuesday, February 24-Wednesday, February 25) –Tutoring sessions after school for identified 11th graders in preparation for the ACT. Bus transportation will be provided to take students home.

Early College High: (Wednesday, February 25-Thursday, February 26) – Tutoring sessions after school for identified 11th graders in preparation for the ACT. Bus transportation will be provided to take students home.

Western Vance High: (Friday, February 27) – Black History Quiz Bowl ends. Meeting for juniors at 2 p.m.

   
 

?

Henderson Middle: (Friday, February 27) – Student club activities from 8 to 8:45 a.m.

   

 

 

UPCOMING SCHOOL EVENTS

Monday, March 2: Tutoring sessions after school for identified 11th graders in preparation for the ACT at Early College High. Bus transportation will be provided to take students home.

Tuesday, March 3: High school juniors take the ACT. End of fourth six-weeks grading period at high schools, except Early College High.

Friday, March 6: Teacher workday, except at Early College High. No school for students.

Thursday, March 12: Report cards distributed at high schools, except Early College High

Wednesday, March 18: Early Release Day due to staff development sessions in the afternoon. Elementary and high schools dismiss students at 12 p.m. and middle schools dismiss students at 12:15 p.m. The STEM Early High School dismisses students at 11:45 a.m.

Thursday, March 19: Vance County Community Resource Fair at Southern Vance High School

Wednesday, March 25: End of third nine-weeks grading period in middle schools. Interim Progress Reports are distributed at high schools, except Early College High.

Monday, March 30-Tuesday, March 31: Annual leave days for employees at Early College High

Northern Vance and Southern Vance Basketball Admission is $5.00.

Wrestling Admission is $5.00 and Swimming Admission is free.

Western Vance Basketball Admission is $3.00

Eaton-Johnson and Henderson Middle Basketball Admission is $5.00.
