The MISSION of Vance County Schools is to be committed to educating all students

to prepare them for lifelong learning and productive citizenship.

 

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

 
 

?

  The deadline for fifth-grade students to complete applications for enrollment as sixth

  graders in the STEM Early High School for the 2015-2016 school year has been

  extended to Friday. Applications are available on the school system’s website and

  from elementary school counselors.

 

 

 

?

  NCAA Eligibility Night from 6 to 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday in the cafeteria at Southern

  Vance High for all interested students and parents throughout Vance County.

  Valuable information will be shared about athletic eligibility at the college level and

  how student athletes should prepare while in high school by representatives from

  colleges and universities including N.C. Central, William Peace University and

  Chowan University.

  Wednesday is a full student day at all schools.

 

 

 

?

  The Vance County Community Resource Fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. on

  Thursday in the gymnasium at Southern Vance High School. The event is open to the

  public and admission is free.

Southern Vance High: (Monday, March 16) – Open House from 4 to 7 p.m.

Western Vance High: (Monday, March 16) – School Improvement Team meeting at 3 p.m.

Henderson Middle: (Tuesday, March 17) – “Parent Night” session for all interested parents, especially those of current eighth graders, at 6 p.m. to share information about how to apply to enter the Early College High School as a ninth grader for the 2015-2016 school year. This session includes presentations from Early College administrators, presentations from the ninth-grade counselors from Northern Vance and Southern Vance high schools and a presentation by Willa Clark, director of the school system’s Career and Technical Education program.

Monday, April 20-Wednesday, April 22: SAT Prep sessions led by Dr. Joseph Aicher for high school students across Vance County at Southern Vance High School beginning at 6:30 p.m. on the first night and 6:10 p.m. on the second night. On the final night, Dr. Aicher will meet with students and parents on a first-come-first-serve basis beginning at 6:30 p.m.

Northern Vance and Southern Vance Baseball Admission is $5.00.

Soccer Admission is $5.00 and Softball Admission is $5.00.

Admission for Tennis, Track and Golf is free.

Eaton-Johnson and Henderson Middle Baseball and Softball Admission is $5.00.
