City Councilors: Higher water and sewer rates AGAIN? Have you convinced yourselves that we aren’t smart enough to multiply the monthly increase and realize it is a big number to add to our already stretched budgets? The trash trucks fly by and ignore what we have put at the street for pickup.

Councilors who are not paying their property taxes on time shouldn’t be on the council voting on what we should pay–common sense people–wake up!

trash trucks flying by sorta equates to sanitation rates which did not go up

    Good point–.

I agree wholeheartedly about elected ones paying their taxes, and, should attend meetings. If one cannot attend regularly, you should not continue to accept payment for service ( or resign).

Mingo you make a valid point about elected officials collecting $$ for services they aren’t providing. I read in your paper where a county commissioner was brought to a mtg on an ambulance! I thought it was a joke so I called the newspaper & a lady confirmed the story. Someone really must have neededtat vote on that particular issue b/c it was previously reported that eddie wright had missed several meetings recently. Why does he con’t to get $$ from the county when he isn’t providing service? Do people not have HONOR anymore? In any other situation if you get $$ for a job & don’t do it then it is called STEALING! I must say that its “interesting” that you have @ least 2 elected officials who were involved in the Bail Bond industry……hmmm. Gotta love those lil’ slips of paper handed out @ the polls telling you who to vote for. Brings the saying that “you get what you deserve”….I guess some folks think they deserve something for nothing. Sounds like highway robbery to me but if you don’t like it….vote him out!

No increase in property taxes. About $170 increase yearly in utilities. Not too bad. I’ve been very satisfied with the services I’ve received this year. I don’t know anything about flying trash trucks. I worry about infrastructure and delayed maintenance.
