Vance County Schools – NVHS National Technical Honor Society


Northern Vance NTHS SeniorsSeniors in the graduating Class of 2015 were honored during the Northern Vance High School National Technical Honor Society Induction and Cording Ceremony held in the school’s cafeteria on May 21.

There were 32 seniors who were honored during the event.

In addition to the seniors, there were five juniors and 13 sophomores who were inducted as new members to the school’s chapter of the National Technical Honor Society.

The National Technical Honor Society recognizes the achievements of top academic students in Career and Technical Education (CTE) courses in Vance County Schools’ high schools. These students have at least a 3.0 overall grade point average and have proven to be academic leaders in the CTE courses they have taken.

Seniors who were honored are shown in the accompanying photo and include, seated from left, Niya Sneed, Jimmy Adams III, Susana Garcia-Arias, LeDasia Taylor, Bailey Farrington, Shawn Miles, Za’Deirdre Alston and Jasmine Small. Standing, from left, are Alegra Bass, Justin Care, Danielle Ferens, Jaelyn Obery, Chris Pendergrass, Meredith Stevenson, Tyler Strickland, Chalise Taylor, Rashawnna Blackwell, Marissa Bullock, Quavon Harris, Sarah Mason and Laura Raynor.

Those seniors honored who were not available for the photo include Melissa Abbott, Kendal Almand, Jonathan Byrom, Sidney Hager, Adam Kaid, Chelsea Komer, Brandon Lopez-Hernandez, Blake Manning, Joseph Sharpe, Evan Lowery and Ky’waun Taylor.

Among the inductees were juniors Synnovia Alexander, Camden Jones, Nakiyjah Terry, Sherie Whitfield and Lauryn Williams. Additional inductees who are all sophomores were Antavia Alexander, Jared Bennett, Brooks Falkner, Okeah’J Glasco, Jamese Kelly, Chontara Mason, Caitlin Melvin, James Montgomery, Shadi Nagi, Courtney Parham, Penny Phan, Deriana Scott and Imani Simmons.
