IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENTS

  Middle schools dismiss students at their regular times Monday through Wednesday.

 

 

 

?

The Vance County Board of Education meets on Monday at 7 p.m. in the Board Room 

  of the Administrative Services Center on Graham Avenue in Henderson.

 

 

 

?

  The last day of classes at all schools is Wednesday.

 

 

 

?

 The annual Honor An Educator Breakfast, presented by the Vance County Public

  School Foundation, will be held Thursday from 7:30 to 9 a.m. in the Administrative

  Services Center.

 

 

 

 

?

  A meeting with all data managers will be held Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the

  computer lab of the Administrative Services Center.

 

 

 

?

  Thursday and Friday are teacher workdays at all schools.

 

 

SCHOOL EVENTS FOR THE WEEK

Northern Vance High:  (Monday, June 8-Tuesday, June 9) – State end-of-course tests, Math 1 and Biology exams administered. Students dismissed at 12:20 p.m. after eating lunch. Selected students take N.C. Final Exams in the afternoon and are dismissed at 3 p.m. Make-up exams given as needed.

STEM Early High: (Thursday, June 11) – Eighth-grade “graduation” ceremony at 10 a.m. in the gymnasium at Northern Vance High School

Western Vance High: (Friday, June 12) – Graduation ceremony for Class of 2015 at 7 p.m. on the front lawn of the school. If there is bad weather, the ceremony will be held in the school’s gymnasium.

Northern Vance High: (Saturday, June 13) – Graduation ceremony for Class of 2015 at 8 a.m. in Viking Stadium. If there is bad weather, the ceremony will be held in the school’s gymnasium.

 

 

 

?

Southern Vance High: (Saturday, June 13) – Graduation ceremony for Class of 2015 at 11 a.m. in Raider Stadium. If there is bad weather, the ceremony will be held in the school’s gymnasium.

Monday, June 15-Wednesday, June 17: Teacher workdays at all schools

Tuesday, June 16: Critical Incident Update training from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. in the Board Room of the Administrative Services Center for principals, assistant principals, school resource officers, social workers and counselors

 

 

?

Thursday, June 18-Tuesday, June 30: Summer instruction for identified eighth-grade students in language arts and mathematics from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Eaton-Johnson and Henderson middle schools. Summer instruction also for identified high school students in Math 1 from 8 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at Northern Vance and Southern Vance high schools.

Monday, June 22: Report cards are mailed to middle and high school students

 

 

?

Tuesday, June 30: The Vance County Board of Education holds a special meeting at 5:30 p.m. in the Administrative Services Center. The purpose of the meeting will be to close out the school year.

 

 

?

Friday, July 3: Independence Day holiday. All schools and school system offices are closed.

 

 

 

 

SPRING ATHLETIC EVENTS
Northern Vance and Southern Vance Baseball Admission is $5.00.

Soccer Admission is $5.00 and Softball Admission is $5.00.

Admission for Tennis, Track and Golf is free.

Eaton-Johnson and Henderson Middle Baseball and Softball Admission is $5.00.

Soccer Admission is $5.00 and Track Admission is free.
