Detours Planned as Road Work Continues on Rolesville Bypass Project

Raleigh- As progress continues on the U.S.401 Rolesville Bypass project, NCDOT contractors have two closures planned, both starting this weekend, weather permitting.

The first closure is scheduled to last 12 hours and will begin Saturday, June 27, at 10 p.m. Contractors plan to close a section of U.S. 401 between just north of Louisbury Road and Forestville Road. The road should re-open Sunday morning by 10 a.m.

Motorists can follow a signed detour route along Forestville Road, Mitchell Mill Road and Jonesville Road.

The second closure is scheduled to last 11 days and will also begin on Saturday June 27, at 10 p.m. when contractors plan to close Louisbury Road at U.S. 401.

The signed detour route for that closure sends drivers onto U.S. 401, Forestville Road and Mitchell Mill Road.

The roadway is expected to reopen on Wednesday, July 8, at 6 a.m.

When traffic is opened up after each of these detours, there will be new traffic patterns in place with new speed limits posted, and motorists will have access to a large portion of the Rolesville Bypass.
