The Staples Fulfillment Center near Henderson has donated another 10 pallets of school and offices supplies, valued at over $12,000, to Vance County Schools.
E.T. Newby and Silka Boone of the school system’s Purchasing and Distribution Center are shown in the accompanying photo as they sort the donated items for distribution to the 17 local schools.
This most recent donation follows the donation in July of four pallets of items including mostly basic school supplies, also valued at over $12,000. Those items are already being used by students and teachers in the schools. Staples’ recent donations include executive chairs, desk chairs, desk sets, drafting stools, a computer cart, computer accessories, surge protectors, teaching and activity books, lanyards, expandable files, backpacks, three-ring binders, notebooks, note pads, report covers, subject dividers, ink pens, mechanical pencils, highlighters, markers, crayons and teaching aids.
“We cannot thank the Staples Fulfillment Center enough for their wonderful generosity to our schools,” said Terri Hedrick, public information officer for the school system. “David Person and Kerri Williams of the center have been great contacts for our schools. Their leadership and the dedication of many Staples employees to our students and our schools are having a tremendous, positive impact on our new school year. We value their partnership immensely!”
