We were very disturbed and disappointed yesterday to learn that President Barack Obama supported the mass firing of teachers in Rhode Island that occurred recently.
Blaming teachers for all the problems in education is like blaming soldiers for losing a war. There’s a heck of a lot more to the system than teachers, and the teachers I’ve seen are doing their very best in circumstances in which Oliver Twist would feel right at home.
