Judge hears arguments in motion to quash subpoena

Yesterday Judge Howard Manning heard arguments both for and against a motion to quash a subpoena filed on Home in Henderson editor Jason Feingold by attorneys for former Vance County Commissioner and current County Commission candidate Tommy Hester.

The hearing was held in Louisburg, North Carolina.

The subpoena, if upheld, would compel Feingold to give Hester’s attorneys information that could be used to identify twenty anonymous comment posters in a libel action that Hester filed with the court on April 21, 2010.

Hester’s libel action was brought because of comments made on the HiH news article Arrest made in elder abuse case which was published on August 14, 2009.

A ruling by Judge Manning is expected in the near future.
