The Vance County Board of Commissioners approved a request from Vance County Schools for $425,000 in capital outlay at last Tuesday’s meeting.
The itemization of the capital outlay may be viewed here.
According to County Manager Jerry Ayscue, all the money had to be itemized but $106,551. Ayscue informed the board that it needs to approve the request.
The county manager further stated that the request was received from the schools “at the last minute”. He went on to explain that the request included the use of undesignated money for all Vance County schools for various renovations. Ayscue went on to tell the board that the money requires a local match, and that the Board of Education is using QZAB money as well as projects funds.
Ayscue stated that he believes the school board’s request is in order, and he recommended to the board that they approve the request.
The motion to approve passed with no opposition.
