Jubilee House after the fire
There was a fire today at approximately 1:00 p.m. at Jubilee House on Beckford Drive.
The facility across from Eaton-Johnson Middle School has been used as a men’s homeless shelter in the past. It was recently rehabilitated by ACTS (Area Christians Together in Service) to serve that purpose once again.
Firefighters were on the scene for about two hours.
Traffic at the middle school was complicated by the fire, as Beckford Drive was closed between Rock Spring Street and Whitten Avenue in both directions until 3:30 p.m.
The cause of the fire is being investigated by the Henderson Police Department.
