Butterfield to Discuss Need for Bipartisan Energy Policy At North Carolina Energy Summit


WASHINGTON, D.C. – Tomorrow, Congressman G. K. Butterfield (NC-01) will travel to Charlotte to discuss the need for a comprehensive bipartisan energy policy at the 2012 Nuclear Energy Assembly and Supplier Exposition.   Butterfield will urge his fellow policymakers to develop a comprehensive long-term energy policy that would lead to American energy independence and stimulate economic growth for all communities.

A senior member of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, Butterfield will address an assembly of nuclear industry experts to encourage Democratic and Republican lawmakers to move forward with a new national long-term energy policy.  Butterfield will discuss the need for energy policy that harnesses diverse sources of energy such as wind, solar and nuclear.  Butterfield will also outline the economic benefits of sustainable energy production to power job creation throughout rural and urban communities.
