Vance County Schools – Student Uniforms at L.B. Yancey Elementary

L.B. Yancey Elementary School has overwhelming support from parents of students and the approval of the Vance County Board of Education in moving forward with plans to require student uniforms for the 2012-2013 school year.

The uniforms will include white and navy blue tops, which should be collared knit shirts or blouses for girls, as well as navy blue or khaki bottoms which may consist of pants and shorts and also for girls skirts, skorts and jumpers.

Students also will be required to wear their shirts tucked in at all times and must wear a belt with pants and shorts.

Student uniforms can be purchased with local merchants who include Rose’s Stores, the Walmart Supercenter, Dollar General, JCPenney and Belk.

L.B. Yancey now joins Pinkston Street Elementary School as the two Vance County Schools which require students to wear uniforms.
