Vance-Granville Community College’s Student Government Association has elected a slate of officers to serve during the 2012-2013 year.
The new leaders include President Felicia Sanders-Gupton of Warrenton, a College Transfer student; Vice President Ruthie Davis of Warrenton, who is double-majoring in Business Administration and Accounting; Secretary Josh Foreman of Wake Forest, a Granville Early College High School student; Treasurer Laurie Braslins of Wake Forest, a College Transfer student; Parliamentarian Shanequa Pressley of Durham, a Cosmetology student at the college’s South Campus; and Public Information Officer Jon Baker of Louisburg, a Computer Information Technology major based at the Franklin County Campus.
As SGA president, Sanders-Gupton is also the student trustee, representing the interests of her fellow students at all meetings of the VGCC Board of Trustees.
The Student Government Association is designed to promote the general welfare of the college in a democratic fashion and to facilitate communication among the student body, the faculty, and the administration. SGA also provides a means through which students can promote interest in student activities, both on and off campus.
