On November 11, we honor the service of our veterans. I will be attending Veterans Day events this weekend including a parade on Saturday and an awards ceremony on Monday.
Yesterday morning, I was honored to speak to a group of veterans traveling from Harnett County to Washington DC. Pictured below are the color guard and students from Triton High School, along with NC Rep. David Lewis, as we saw the veterans group off to Washington.

The Second District is home to many veterans of our armed forces and their families. Last month, I hosted a veterans job fair in Sanford with nearly 40 employers participating. In this newsletter and on my website, you will find information about the services my office provides to veterans and military service members.
Below you will also find information about the Veterans History Project and the Veterans’ Legacy Foundation — both of which do great work recognizing and documenting the service of our veterans.
I’ve co-sponsored and voted for numerous pieces of legislation to honor and provide for our veterans. If you have any questions about legislation relating to veterans, please contact my Washington office at (202) 225-4531.

Veterans History Project
The Veterans History Project of the American Folklife Center at the Library of Congress collects, preserves, and makes accessible the personal accounts of American war veterans so that future generations may hear directly from veterans and better understand the realities of war.
Veterans’ Legacy Foundation
The Veterans’ Legacy Foundation is an organization formed by veterans in a united effort to research and document the legacy of veteran service and to promote the recognition and honor of that service. My office has worked with this group to help veterans in the Second District receive military service awards some have waited decades to receive.
