Henderson Police Department targets Alcohol, Drug and Traffic Violations in Special Operation


On March 1 and March 2, 2013 members of the Henderson Police Department in conjunction with the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Agency conducted the Henderson Community Betterment Special Operation. The operation targeted alcohol, drug, and traffic violations in areas surrounding establishments that sell tobacco and alcohol. During the operation fifty-seven (57) individuals were arrested with eighty-eight (88) charges being issued. Five firearms were seized, and a federal arrest warrant was served. Charges resulted in a variety of violations to include:

  • Possession of Alcoholic Beverage by a Minor (1 count)
  • Consumption on Premise Establishment (1 count)
  • Open Container (6 counts)
  • Driving while License Revoked (4 counts)
  • No Operation License (9 counts)
  • Expired Registration (1 count)
  • No Insurance (4 counts)
  • Misdemeanor Possession of Marijuana (12 counts)
  • Possession of Cocaine with the Intent to Sell/Deliver (2 counts)
  • Possession of Drug Paraphernalia (9 counts)
  • Carrying a Concealed Weapon (5 counts)
  • Possession of  a Firearm by a Minor (1 count)
  • Possession of a Firearm with no serial number (1 count)
  • Federal Warrant Arrest (1 count)

Additional operations of this nature are planned in the future. The Henderson Police Department and the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Agency will continue to partner together to prevent the sale of alcohol and tobacco to minors.
