Next year at the Greensboro Science Center in Greensboro, visitors can not only see the exhibits, but also be the exhibit. SkyWild will take visitors through the treetops on a fitness and adventure course while other visitors watch from below. Expected to open in May, the $600,000 exhibit is part of the second phase of development in the center’s master plan, financed primarily through a bond approved by voters in 2009. The exhibit also is seeking corporate sponsorships and support. There will be 78 physical feats based on animal adaptations, plus seven short zip lines, with beginner, intermediate and advanced levels. It will take about 2 hours to do the course, which can accommodate about 300 people per day; the participant charge hasn’t been determined yet.
