Alan Gibson
On Thursday, March 13, 2014, members of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigation Division arrested Darius Montreal Benson, 26, 858 Eastway Drive, Henderson. Benson has been charged with one count of first degree murder, one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one count of first degree burglary. Benson was arrested at the Vance County Jail where he was being detained for charges not related to this incident.
Benson was returned to the Vance County Jail after appearing before the magistrate and given no bond for the current charges. Benson has a preliminary hearing scheduled in Vance County District Court on March 17, 2014.
On Wednesday, March 5, 2014, members of the Henderson Police Department Criminal Investigation Division arrested Alan Joseph Gibson, 37, of 1316 Lehman Street, Henderson. Gibson has been charged with one count of first degree murder, one count of assault with a deadly weapon with intent to kill and one count of first degree burglary. Gibson was placed in the Vance County Jail without privilege of bond pending a preliminary hearing in Vance County District Court on March 17, 2014.
This has been an ongoing investigation since the time of occurrence. Additional arrests in this matter are forthcoming and information will be released upon the arrest of additional suspects. The additional suspects are in custody on other charges and pose no threat to the public at large.

On Friday, January 9, 2009, at 1:45 A.M., members of the Henderson Police Department Patrol Division responded to 687 Adams Street, Henderson in response to someone shot. When officers arrived, they found Montrell Alston, 28, 687 Adams Street suffering from a gunshot wound. Alston succumbed to his injuries while at that location.
In addition, Robert Smith, 53, also of 687 Adams Street was found to be suffering from a gunshot wound as well. Smith’s injuries were not life threatening.
