This document is interesting and how the finance director, city manager and auditors never looked at the original, physical bank statement is mind blowing. Recently paid a sizable business personal property bill to Vance County and it made me sick to my stomach, wondering how much of the money we have paid over the years made that woman’s house payment or bought bikinis, beach trips and who knows what else. Who’s watching the coffers now? Same auditors?

  2. prudence September 2, 2014 at 10:42 am

That is exactly how I feel Dagny–lots of dropped balls in this years long debacle–hope there’s no plans for a retirement bash for the county manager–and we should all hold back any payments to the county until the SBI is called in. Send her case out of the county and find an impartial jury so that she can’t ask for a retrial–pipe dream?

  3. royal rooter September 2, 2014 at 11:12 am

Great posts, Prudence and Dagny. We all need to hope that she doesn’t come to trial until the new DA takes office. We will find out if Mr. Waters is true to his campaign promises or will he reduce charges and accept a plea to a lower charge with no active jail time. I am sure Mike Rogers will attempt to secure an Alford plea with no jail time.

Prudence makes a great suggestion that we withhold our tax payments until the SBI is called in.

Was anything ever done on August 25 when she was to go before the court? Ive heard nothing about it. Also where is the Mr. Reavis in all this? Has he been arrested and where is his mugshot? I was told this morning that the ex fire Chief Howie Henrich had her new camper up for sale on Facebook. Can he do that legally?

  5. sicktodeath September 3, 2014 at 3:44 pm

The camper that is for sale belongs to him not her. As for
Mr. Reavis he got the heck out of this county before it all happened. Wonder what he knew before hand!

  6. hiheyhello September 3, 2014 at 4:29 pm

Sick to death – what was said or done in court on August 25? And if Mr. Reavis is guilty shouldn’t they have a warrant out for his arrest? Hes named in the above document as if he knew and participated in the scam with her. What about the fiancĂ© Mr. Henrich, did he know what was going on. From what I’ve been told they have been together for a while now so he had to suspect something. Why was Henriched fired if he is innocent?

  7. hiheyhello September 3, 2014 at 4:32 pm

Why is my comment awaiting moderation???????

  8. jabbathehut September 3, 2014 at 5:02 pm

Triple H(hiheyhello). From what I understand and as I have said before, you hear all types of rumors. I also heard, Mr. Reavis turned her in. I also heard he passed a polygraph, so there you go. Also, from what the rumors that I heard, Mr. Reavis is named in the civil suit because Mrs. Reavis made checks out to him also.

If it was me and I had claimed to have had no knowledge, I would want the cancelled checks that I “allegedly” had signed presented to me so we could match up signatures.

We will have to wait and see what happens.

  9. hiheyhello January 25, 2015 at 6:06 pm

Haven’t been on here in a while. Heard the “town crook” as deception called Ms Reavis is not getting charged for anything now? Any truth to that?

  10. Deception January 26, 2015 at 10:04 pm

Triple H you say that you haven’t been on in awhile…well sugar you ain’t missed anything. Few CONVICTED MURDERERS have been pled down & gotten sentences that range from 20 months to 8-10 years!!! That’s laughable but it counts as a conviction for your good ole District 9 Judicial System. Still same ole drug raids that don’t do anything In the Court’s as well….the COUNTY CROOK will not serve 1 day in jail..much less Prison.
She’s got the right color of skin & is in District 9…need I say more?

  11. prudence January 27, 2015 at 3:50 pm

Read tomorrow’s Dispatch–she has dropped request for a change of venue. As for what else was printed, you’ll have to read it for yourselves.

  12. Deception January 27, 2015 at 5:30 pm

“an offer has been made” and a “counter offer has been made”!! Wonder how long her PROBATION/PAROLE will be b/c as I’ve said before……the COUNTY CROOK will not serve 1 day behind bars………the “newest and most interesting” conspiracy is that she may have some “dirt” on other high ranking county members…..some still working….some recently retired!!! Things that make you go hmmmmmmm……………………

  13. prudence January 28, 2015 at 11:00 am

Shames on the justice system if they don’t have a trial of her peers.

  14. Deception January 28, 2015 at 7:56 pm

Prudence…..how dare you use such forbidden words as “trial by peers”!! Last report I heard said that in Vance County alone their were 15+ inmates housed on Breckenridge St. facing MURDER CHARGES!!! The truth be known; not a single 1 will end up in a trial. Either the DA’s Office is scared to let a jury decide or the evidence is weak & they are trying to “save face” by offering Plea Deals….what do you think? I heard another elderly gentleman say a comment to one of his buddies @ a local breakfast spot. As they discussed this very topic, he said “bob when someone says D.A. what’s the 1st thing that comes to mind”? Bob said “not a very smart donkey”!!!
I was so floored @ his wit that I offered to buy his breakfast!!! He declined the offer but I made it clear to him & his buddies that he had made my day!!
COUNTY CROOK will enter an Alford Plea & give a public apology & probably get 5 years probation. Wait & see…..they already dropped the Felony Charges that were related to the “bank bag”. I say we get Nancy Grace to Henderson so she can shed some light on the darkness @ the Vance County Courthouse!!!! Talk about public humiliation….I wonder how fast some of your elected officials would run to dodge a cable news reporter? I may try & get in touch w/her producers….worse thing they can say is NO!!!!!
Quick Poll for HiH bloggers……should Nancy Grace be contacted or not? I vote YES…so that’s the 1st vote.

  15. prudence January 28, 2015 at 8:12 pm

I vote Yes and try Bill O’reilly also.

  16. royal rooter January 29, 2015 at 10:27 am

If this woman does not serve at least 3 to 5 years in prison, the taxpayers of Vance County should revolt and stop paying any property taxes for at least 3 years.

  17. prudence January 29, 2015 at 6:59 pm

I’m with you Royal Rooter. Taxpayers are fed up with the “leaders” in this county and city. They can’t put us all in jail if we rebel.

  18. Jack Johnson February 6, 2015 at 2:41 am

our great president is leading the country in the right direction unemployment is dramatically down gas prices are down the war on terror is down and our country is finally heading in the right direction rich republicans need to pay their fair share so that we can reap the benefits that they do

  19. Dazed and Confused February 6, 2015 at 6:56 am

Your great president is a muslim sympathizer, he proved that by his remarks at the national prayer breakfest.

  20. Out in Left Field February 6, 2015 at 11:02 am

I sadly have only one vote to cast Jack, aka Ira Gershwin, Johnson off the island.

  21. Zep February 6, 2015 at 11:26 am

Sorry, Dazed, I interpreted Obama’s comments differently. He made factual statements regarding religious zealotry. Any Christian in denial regarding the crusades and inquisition is refusing to accept reality. Terrorism is not exclusive to one brand of ‘religion’. Just because your great great relative was a witch hunter/burner doesn’t make YOU the terrorist…Any more than flying in an airplane makes you a bird.

  22. Jack Johnson February 6, 2015 at 11:51 pm

about our great president is leading the country in the right direction unemployment is dramatically down gas prices are down the war on terror is down and our country is finally heading in the right direction rich republicans need to pay their fair share so that we can reap the benefits that they do

  23. Anonymous February 7, 2015 at 8:16 am

I am first today to thumbs down Ira Gershwin, excuse me Jack Johnson latest posting. Four more and he is gone again. Ira or Jack you are as dumb as a box of rocks.

  24. Deception February 7, 2015 at 4:36 pm

JJ or Ira or G.Champion? Latest babbly-boo sounds all the same!! Whatever happened to having decent discussion(s)? Is that what HiH has come to…..certainly I hope not for the sake of the group that scans the HiH daily looking for the latest scoop!
Get a grip JJ..or Ira..or hmmmm………certainly the internet cafes don’t let you sit around and surf when others want to play!!

  25. Jack Johnson February 8, 2015 at 1:47 am

and about our great president is leading the country in the right direction unemployment is dramatically down gas prices are down the war on terror is down and our country is finally heading in the right direction rich republicans need to pay their fair share so that we can reap the benefits that they do

  26. Publius February 8, 2015 at 12:40 pm

Decept, it’s a free country and Mr. Johnson pays as much as you to post here. Besides, he might even live here..

  27. Deception February 15, 2015 at 11:13 am

Publius…..if you know not of what you speak; do us all a favor and keep your pie hole closed. Mr. Johnson as you say(even though it’s a female) may do lots of things in Henderson but pay taxes is far from one of the them.
As far as your local COUNTY CROOK a.k.a. Christa Reavis I see in today’s Daily Dispatch that her atty. wants her bank records to not be a part of the evidence b/c they allege that former Dist. Atty. Sam Currin didn’t sign the paper and had one of his clerks sign it which will make it not be admissible in Court. District 9 Judicial System at its finest!!! How long was Currin the Dist. Atty? Certainly you would think he would know the proper procedure to follow……but once again as I’ve said numerous times she will not serve 1 day behind bars b/c of the good ole’ District 9 Judicial System’s inability to prosecute felons w/success. Last check Breckenridge St. Jail had 15+ Murderers being housed there and if you pay close attention you will notice that not a single 1 will end up in trial. They will be offered plea deal after plea deal until they get 3-5 years in Prison and be walking the streets of Vance County looking for the next victim. If you don’t care about your citizens lives anymore than this then it’s obvious you need to go get a desk job elsewhere!!! That goes for all the members of Dist. 9 including the new D.A. who surprisingly is the son of a former D.A. Can you spell nepotism?
Don’t worry though……he’s not the 1st person in Vance County to get a position due to his family ties!!!

  28. Publius February 15, 2015 at 12:44 pm

Yes, Decept, I can spell “nepotism.” The real question is -Do you know what it means? Pardon me isn’t that an elected position? I am so happy that you’ve found a hobby to comfort you in your doterage..

  29. prudence February 15, 2015 at 1:06 pm

Publius–what are you trying to spell?

  30. Publius February 15, 2015 at 1:11 pm

Doterage, is probably what you’re talking about. Basically it means a state of senility. A fancy word with more than one meaning. Class is dismissed.

  31. Deception February 16, 2015 at 12:09 pm

Let not your lil’ heart(if you have one) worry Mrs. Reavis as I had the pleasure(if you call it that) to witness the District 9 Judicial System today in Superior Court. Talk about a joke…..Out of the first 30 names on the SUPERIOR DOCKET @ least 10-13 of them had to automatically be continued b/c a certain atty. wasn’t available today. Do these “smart” attorneys that know they won’t be in Court have the decency to notify the clients they represent that they won’t be in Court so people don’t have to miss work b/c of the attorney’s unavailability? or is that too much to ask?
40 minutes into the Court Session it was recessed for 15 minutes while the District Atty. Office could get their ducks in a row and continue w/the proceedings. So Mrs. Reavis I say that you have lil’ to worry about dear b/c if your atty. has 1/2 a brain he will help you beat the charges altogether or have them reduced so much that you can probably reapply for another job in Vance Co. handling $$$. Anyone who wants to see live comedy w/o having to go to Raleigh or Durham need only to visit one of the Court Houses in the 9th District. Evidently the Bar Exam isn’t too difficult b/c with some of the attorneys I have seen in action they probably would have a difficult time getting out of the rain!!!!
Mrs. Reavis………you’ll be fine!!!! and if not…..don’t hesitate to drop a dime or two on your former supervisors that the rumormill says you have some “dirt” on!! Good Luck to you b/c if Vance County is stupid enough to let if go on for so long that an amateur got away w/it for years…..well so be it!!!
According to the Daily Dispatch your atty. seems to be on top of things b/c it seems as if the past D.A. Sam Currin may have filed a motion requesting your bank records & according to the report had one of his office staff sign it instead of him signing off on it……..certainly after 30+ years in the DA’s Office he had to have known that wasn’t the correct way to do things!!! Well…….maybe not!!!

  32. hiheyhello November 30, 2015 at 2:06 pm

Christa Harris Reavis plead GUILTY and was sentenced to 44 months
