Vance County’s Education Committee (Wilder, Garrison and Taylor) is scheduled to meet Tuesday, January 20 at 11:00 a.m. in the Administrative Conference Room. The purpose is to discuss School matters.
Please note that all Commissioners are invited to attend, so it is possible that three or more Commissioners may be present.
Maybe I am missing something when I read this notice; but if a meeting is called shouldn’t all the members try to attend?
Prudence, you are not missing anything. You are witnessing another of Chairman Taylor’s procedural changes. At the last Commissioners’ meeting one commissioner objected to moving a topic to a committee; a committee that commissioner is not a member. Chairman Taylor made it clear all the way to the Peanut Gallery that all committee meetings are open to the public adding that the public can include any commissioner not a member of the committee.
Prudence, I encourage you to attend the meeting if only to show the commissioners you are interested in the topic being discussed.
