The H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library held its 13th Annual Storytelling Festival on Tuesday, April 28, 2009.

The daytime event for the fourth graders included four featured storytellers with seven regional storytellers including former Perry Library Youth Services Librarian Claire Ramsey.

700 students were in attendance for the event that was organized by the more recently former Youth Services Librarian Leigh Lambert.

Jeriann Thacker is the current youth librarian for the library.

The evening portion of the event was open to all ages and starred the four featured storytellers (picture above).

The event was made possible by the Vance County Arts Council, the Grassroots Arts Grant Program of the North Carolina State Arts Council, and the Friends of the H. Leslie Perry Memorial Library.
