FY 2010 budget highlights

Here are some highlights on the City of Henderson’s fiscal year 2010 budget as presented to the Henderson City Council by City Manager Ray Griffin during yesterday’s regular meeting:

No property tax increase

No sanitation fee increase

Increase of regional water rate by 6%

Increase of water rate by 5%

Increase in sewer rate by 4%

No planned staff reduction, layoffs, or furloughs

No cost-of-living-adjustments, merit raises, or career development for city staff

No new positions in city staff

No increase in active employee health insurance premiums

$560,000 will be taken from the undesignated fund balance to balance the budget

No street resurfacing

Privatization of sanitation services
