Raleigh — Rep. Michael H. Wray has been reappointed as a member of the North Carolina Economic Development Board. The appointment was announced today by House Speaker Joe Hackney.
The North Carolina Economic Development Board oversees state economic development research and planning and makes policy recommendations to the Secretary of Commerce, the governor and the General Assembly.
“I am pleased to have this opportunity to serve in such a key position,” Rep. Wray said. “This appointment will allow me to continue serving the people of my district and the State of North Carolina during a time in which economic development is more vital than ever.”
The Board will make annual recommendations to the governor regarding biennial and annual appropriations for economic development programs in the state and will annually develop and update a comprehensive strategic economic development plan for North Carolina.
Rep. Wray is a small business owner living in Northampton County and is serving his third term in the House of Representatives. He is Chair of the House Committee on Insurance and is Vice-Chair of both the House Appropriations Subcommittee on Natural and Economic Resources and the House Committee on Wildlife Resources.
