Man shot multiple times at Lincoln Heights

A 24-year-old Henderson man suffered life-threatening wounds in a shooting late Thursday at the Lincoln Heights Apartments.

Tyrone Yancey of 111 Carter St. was shot multiple times during an assault about 10:15 p.m. inside an apartment at the public housing complex on Lincoln Street, police Capt. Charles Crumpler announced in a news release this morning.

Officers responding to the shooting call at 10:19 spotted a car heading onto Interstate 85 with its emergency flashers on and followed the vehicle to Maria Parham Medical Center, where three men carried Yancey into the emergency room.

Police searched for evidence throughout the night at Lincoln Heights and plan to pursue several leads today, Crumpler reported.
