On August 17, 2009 at approximately 11:15 a.m., members of the Henderson Police Department responded to 227 W. Belle Street in reference to a report of a breaking and entering in progress.
Upon arrival, officers surrounded the residence and determined that entry had been gained into the building through the rear door. Officers searched the house and found the suspect hiding under a bed inside the residence.
Andrea Melchor, 25, of 2441 Raleigh Road was taken into custody and charged with breaking and entering and injury to real property. Melchor is being held under a $30,000 bond pending an August 24, 2009 court appearance.
Melchor has two previous convictions of felony breaking and entering and one conviction of possession of stolen goods as well as four previous convictions for misdemeanor breaking and entering.
