Shamon Champion, 22, sought by Henderson police for first degree murder
On August 23, 2009 at approximately 12:54 a.m. officers of the Henderson Police Department responded to the intersection of Highland Avenue and Rockspring Street in reference to someone shot.
Upon arrival officers located the victim, Robert Newsome, 30, of 715 Highland Avenue.
EMS personnel pronounced Newsome dead at the scene.
After an investigation into this incident by members of the Henderson Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Division, a warrant charging first degree murder has been obtained on Shamon Champion, 22, of 517 Hatch Street.
