NCDOT Crews in Division 5 Switch to Cleanup Role Following Winter Weather
Raleigh – NCDOT crews from Wake, Durham and surrounding counties are continuing to work on clearing major roads after 2 to 6 inches of snow fell overnight. Division 5 also includes Warren, Franklin, Vance, Granville and Person counties. I-40, I-440, I-540 and I-85 within the Division are mostly clear with patches of snow still on the highways. VGCC names new Social Sciences chair
Vance-Granville Community College instructor Kristi Salmons-Ellenberg was recently named chair of the college’s Social Sciences department. A resident of Henderson, Salmons-Ellenberg has taught at VGCC since 2010 and continues teaching Sociology courses. The Social Sciences department, part of the VGCC Arts and Sciences division, provides instruction in anthropology, economics, history, psychology, political science and sociology.
