Oakhill Apartments Struck by Vehicle
On Monday, December 03, 2012, members of the Henderson Police Department responded to the Oakhill Apartments located at 820 Coble Blvd. Officers found that a 1997 Ford driven by William Vandyke of 5034 Dorsey Road, Oxford had struck a building in the complex. The complex leasing office sustained approximately $10,000.00 in damage. There was approximately $2,800.00 damages done to the Vandyke Ford. There were no injuries reported.

Avoid burning during period of increased fire risk
RALEIGH — The N.C. Forest Service is urging residents to be safe and avoid burning yard waste and other debris until the state gets some significant rain. Humidity levels across the state are low, and projected increases in moisture may not be enough to prevent fuels from igniting if an ember lands among forest debris. Darnell Macon Arrested for Murder, Police Still Seeking 2nd Suspect Lajohn Champion
On November 26, 2012 members of the Henderson Police Department arrested and charged Darnell Macon, 23, of 3299 Epsom Rocky Ford Road Louisburg, NC with first degree murder in relation to the homicide of Gregory Welfare. Arrest was conducted during a traffic stop in which the suspect fled on foot from the vehicle. Mr. Macon was apprehended after a brief foot pursuit. The Tobacco Communities Reinvestment Project is now accepting applications for innovative farm projects designed to increase farm income. Henderson Police on Thursday Homocide
On Thursday, November 22, 2012, at 9:52 P.M. members of the Henderson Police Department responded to the United Prayer of Faith Holiness Church, 127 Miriam Street, Henderson in response to someone shot. When officers arrived, they found Barry Wilkerson, 28, 1304 Nicholas Street, Henderson suffering from a gunshot wound. Wilkerson was pronounced dead at the scene.
